today was pretty epic.



i went to my first ever korean pop convention, kpop nation, at megamall. thanks to ziggy savella, i'm starting to get into k-pop music/culture, although i still only know a couple of artists and songs.





ziggy and eldzs mejia were there to judge this k-pop cover group contest. i found out about the event at around 1:30pm, rushed to get ready and got out of the house by 3:00pm.



i was lucky enough to sit at the judges table with ziggy and eldzs and i even got to judge the first couple of acts who performed! insta-judge!



i had no idea that kids get really into the whole k-pop culture. all of them managed to get the choreography accurately and were really prepared with their costumes and make-up.





i was shocked that each cover group had their own fan base, complete with banners and all.







oh and did i mention that part of the judging criteria is lip synching?







it was a shame that i had to leave after the 6th or 7th group, just as i was really getting into the whole thing.



i went straight to bonifacio high street for the facehunter book launch/signing at fully booked. i wasn't able to take photos during the event because i was too ~lazy~. we didn't expect it to start on time but wa-hey, it did! we arrived just as he was about to finish with his talk. i wanted to get a copy of the book and have it signed but i think they were only selling it on cash basis. tears! we had dinner and a round of drinks at kabisera after.

this originally read "kfest" and was the stamp i got at the kpop convention. however, we all got slightly buzzed after about half a bottle of pale pilsen each. cai brought out her sharpie and nissy had an awesome idea.

we all went our separate ways after. nissy and joseph went to KYSS to see more of yvan rodic. cai and eunice went to the collective. i, on the other hand, had to go home. sad face.

i went to trinoma today to get a new pair of pants for the coming term at sofa (wink, wink).

i am super in love with that baseball jacket. even though it's the trend now, the colors used makes it a little bit classic. the sleeves are longer than the body, which i like. i got it right after the black friday sale in the us last november and it was $30 off the original price!



the pocket watch necklace from topman is actually a working watch. i got it earlier this year i think and seldom used it.



i've had my eye on these shoes by american eagle outfitters since january. i love living here in the philippines and all but i'm just annoyed that a lot of the foreign brands i really like don't offer shipping to here. i was finally able to get a pair last october and i'm in love with them. they're pretty cheap too!

i've been coming awake with all this love she gives me

last tuesday, right after the VEENEX christmas brunch, i shot the 50th wedding anniversary celebration of a family friend. it was kinda funny that it was held at this events place right in front of my high school.



it was my first time shooting a wedding and i think i did pretty okay. that also served as practice for a bigger wedding i'm going to shoot in february.



since i was shooting it, i asked if i could dress in something that would allow me to move easier than regular wedding attire. so this was what i ended up wearing:

that h&m blazer is a steal at just $29.99! the quality's pretty steady and i like the fact that it's light enough to wear here in manila. bleach catastrophe is my favorite local clothing brand. i love how they manage to come out with new silhouettes for the t-shirt. hmm, i might do a separate blog entry about them soon. also, i realized i've been wearing the same pair of shoes for almost all my outfit shots, haha. i love those boots so much!





i'm really looking forward to the wedding i'm going to shoot in february. i'm also doing the pre-nuptial photos. scared and excited!

i am young but not for long

i went to church today. the pastor started talking about how according to the bible, man's average lifespan is 70 years. that means i'll be 70 in 47 years. i felt so old all of a sudden. and no, it's not funny. i feel depressed.

anticipation has a habit to set you up

more snow photos. this was my first time seeing and experiencing snow. i felt like a kid in a toy store.



on the first day of snow in roanoke, my sister and i had lunch out. when we went outside the restaurant, this was what we saw.



i tried my best to not smile and get kilig, but i couldn't help it.



it was just so beautiful.



i felt like i was inside a snow globe. or that the world is a giant halo-halo.



i swear, there's something about snowing that suddenly changes people's moods. everyone seemed perkier and happier. there was even this one guy who went up to me while i was taking photos and started to describe one of his experiences with snow.



after getting some groceries at the supermarket next door, my sister and i headed home and this was what we found...





my sister's backyard has the most spectacular view during fall. seeing it covered in snow seemed so surreal.







the snow continued to fall that afternoon and night. the next day, i saw this...



it was more than two inches thick! it didn't snow anymore after that and it took about five days for the snow to melt. i want to experience snowing again but with my friends. it would be awesome to make snowmen, snow angels and all those stuff i'd watch on american christmas films.
